The improvers course is ideally placed as revision course for newish beekeepers to catch up with new ideas and reinforce the practices they learnt in the first year or two of beekeeping, or if you have just had a break from beekeeping for a while.

It covers elements of the BBKA Basic assessment syllabus to help and encourage you to take the Basic assessment, with a practical assessment held at our apiary.

If you have been keeping at least one colony of bees for a year we encourage you to take the Basic Assessment.  This may seem daunting, but it really isn?t.

The assessment is a demonstration of your knowledge rather than an exam and therefore is not something to worry about.? You can view the syllabus here?https://www.bbka.org.uk/basic-assessment?

The improvers course covers elements of the BBKA Basic Assessment syllabus;

?            Manipulation & Equipment

?            Natural History & Beekeeping

?            Swarming, Swarm control and Effects

?            Disease & Pests.

The cost of the course is ?20.
